RWE names new executive board to lead energy transition
Markus Krebber will take over as CEO on 1 May, replacing Rolf Martin Schmitz. Krebber joined RWE’s supply and trading division in 2012 and has been the company’s chief financial officer since 2016.
Krebber said he aims to “forge ahead with RWE’s transformation, to make it a leading global player in renewable energies and to grow RWE further into its new future”.
The CFO role will be taken on by Michael Müller, who has held positions within RWE’s power and generation units since 2005. He has been CFO of RWE’s trading subsidiary since 2016.
Completing the executive board will be Zvezdana Seeger, who has been chief human resources officer and labour director at RWE since November 2020.
RWE’s wind and solar portfolio is set to reach more than 13GW by the end of 2022, up from more than 9GW now. It has a global project pipeline of about 34GW.
