GWEC India appoints Martand Shardul as first policy director

The Global Wind Energy Council India (GWEC India) announced that Martand Shardul, previously a Fellow at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), has joined GWEC India as its first policy director.

GWEC India highlighted that Shardul has more than a decade of experience in public policy, clean energy analytics and digital transformation in India and beyond.

Prior to joining GWEC India, he was a Fellow at TERI, where he steered the implementation of clean energy projects in India. Through his work at the institute, Shardul has worked with institutions such as the World Health Organisation, the World Bank Group, the Global Network on Energy for Sustainable Development, Power Finance Corporation Limited and the Department for International Development (DFID), UK Aid, on projects that promoted sustainable development and clean energy transitions.

He has also supported initiatives such as the Sustainable Energy for All Country Action Agenda and Investment Prospectus for several sub-Saharan African countries.
