The Brookfield Energy Advisory Board is reminding residents they can have free energy audits done to make their homes more energy efficient.
The Home Energy Solutions program is funded by a small fee on electric bills and offered through EnergizeCT. The audits are free as long as the person hasn’t already had a free audit in the past 36 months.
Incentives are also available for larger improvements, though a few conservation measures are included in the free visit.
The revised program will have some safety procedures in place due to the coronavirus, including a virtual pre-audit.
People can apply for an audit by calling1-877-WISE-USE (9473-873) or online at www.energizect.com.
