Siemens Gamesa appoints new US service CEO – Nordex signs deal for eight turbines

Siemens Gamesa North America has appointed David Hickey as the new CEO of its service business in the Americas.

He had most recently served as vice president of sales and marketing for the manufacturer’s North American unit.

Hickey replaces Juan Gutiérrez, who Siemens Gamesa promoted to global service CEO last week.

Nordex has signed a deal to supply eight of its AW132/3465 turbines for a 27.7MW wind farm in Voltalia’s 2.4GW Serra Branca wind and solar cluster in Rio Grande do Norte, north-east Brazil.

Toda Energia do Brasil – a subsidiary of Japanese conglomerate Toda – will carry out infrastructure work and oversee operations for the project.

Construction is due to start in 2021.
