Sarens dismantles collapsed Liebherr crane
Liebherr-MCCtec Rostock has contracted Sarens, global leader in heavy lifting and engineered transport, to dismantle the huge 5,000-tonne crane which was collapsed on May 2, 2020, during crane load tests onboard the DP3 offshore installation vessel ‘Orion’.
At first Mammoet seemed to win the contract, but in the end the dismantling project was awarded to Sarens.
We have asked Liebherr to confirm the order and to release further technical details, but we were told that information on the latest developments will be provided soon, without mentioning a specific date.
A Sarens team has already started dismantling in Rostock.
