American AWS Corp. is a growing company with over 34 years in business located in Holbrook, NY. As a growing company we are looking for motivated individuals to expand with us. Experience is preferred, but not required. We will train the right individuals for full-time positions as:

ENERGY AUDITORS

An energy auditor must be BPI Certified, also known as an Energy Rater, this individual is a specialized consultant who helps improve the energy efficiency of residential homes. As part of the “green” energy business sector, a career as an energy auditor presents ample opportunities for advancement over the coming decade; especially as we transition away from fossil fuels to more efficient ways of heating and cooling.

Job Position Requirements

  • BPI Certified

The Energy Auditor will be responsible to conduct combustion safety testing and infrared scanning to evaluate existing conditions and recommend energy efficiency improvements. A complete and detailed account of the data will be collected, measured, then entered into our agency database.

Daily interaction with the homeowners, tenants, and contractors will be necessary to educate them on the energy efficiency options and prepare detailed work orders for each energy audit. Conduct Audits in compliance with American A.W.S. program requirements.

This position reports to the Senior Energy Auditor with the following minimum qualifications to perform this job successfully:

  • Individuals must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Preferable BPI-Building Analyst Certification.
  • Required to obtain other BPI Certifications as necessary.
  • Preferable but not required an established background in Energy Auditing. Weatherization experience preferred.
  • Residential construction background is a plus.
  • High School Diploma required or equivalent.
  • Ability to exert physical effort in light to moderate work involving lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling; ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; ability to climb and balance.
  • Ability to comprehend a variety of reference books and manuals including building codes, computer handbooks, topographical maps, building manuals, architectural drawings, etc.
  • Ability to maintain the integrity of confidential employment, client, and business information.
  • Ability to accurately record and deliver information, meet deadlines, maintain confidential information.
  • Able to communicate effectively and exercise good judgment.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Must pass a background check and physical.

There is plenty of full-time work available for the foreseeable future. Starting pay will depend on experience and is negotiable.

Keep in mind this work can be uncomfortable, hot, and physically demanding. It’s not for everyone, but we have a great crew of people with good attitudes that have fun while working.
