Qatar North Oil Company extends JDC rigs contract for Al Shaheen Field

Japan Drilling jack-up rigs Hakuryu-10 and Hakuryu-12 got extensions by NOC.

JDC said that NOC has extended drilling contracts for oil field Al Shaheen offshore Qatar.

2008 built Hakuryu-10 and 2015 built Hakuryu-12 jack-up drilling rig to stay in the Persian Gulf drilling at Qatar’s largest offshore oil field, at least one year as first option under the two year firm + two one-year options contract.

North Oil Company now has exercised first one one-year extension option for the JDC jack-ups.

According to JDC, the extension for Haykuryu-12 effect from September 13, 2019, while the extension for the Hakuryu-10 is set to be initiated on February 12, 2020.

Al-Shaheen oil field is located in Qatari waters 80 kilometers north of Ras Laffan with facilities consisting of 33 platforms and more than 300+ wells. Al-Shaheen is Qatar’s largest offshore oil field and one of the largest offshore oil fields in the world.​
