Documentary: “Wired: A Day in the Life of Energy” PBS/WHYY Philadelphia
https://vimeo.com/81834412
Every hour of every day, every second, it’s moving . . . traveling thousands of miles, all over the country. We depend on it at home and at work. In fact, life as we know it would come to a grinding halt if we didn’t have it. And, of course, that’s when we pay the most attention . . . to energy.
This program takes viewers on a journey into the energy system, from generation points to the “grid” and across high voltage transmission lines into our homes. It looks at the myriad of problems associated with traditional energy sources – and explores some of the clean, renewable, alternatives available now. Then, head for the road and take a ride in a hybrid electric car; check out vehicles that run on everything from solar powered batteries to reclaimed vegetable oil; and journey into the future with a pollution-free hydrogen fuel-cell powered automobile which emits water instead of exhaust.
